Frequently asked questions
Will
certification eventually be offered somewhere other than the Dalux Summit?
Currently,
it is available only at the Summit. Other locations or delivery methods may be
considered after the organizers gain more experience with the certification
process.
Can
I take both the Dalux Box and Dalux Field certification courses?
Yes,
but you must register separately for each course. The first course you register
for will be treated as your primary choice, while the second will be your
secondary choice if places are limited. You must complete the e-learning and
exam for both courses.
Is
there a fee for attending the training or taking the exam?
No.
The certification is free for Dalux Summit attendees, with no additional
training or examination fee.
Can I fail the certification?
Yes.
You must pass both the e-learning exam and the on-site assessment. If you do
not pass, you will not become a certified Dalux user.
Which language is the certification available in?
The e-learning materials, videos, on-site training, and exams are available only in English.
Can
I complete the certification later if I cannot attend the Summit?
Not
currently. The certification is offered in person at the Dalux Summit only. We
plan to offer it again at the 2027 Summit.
Must the e-learning be completed according to the week-by-week timeline?
Chapters will be released one per week, but participants do not have to complete them during their assigned week. All chapters can be completed later—even during week four. Following the recommended schedule helps avoid information overload and supports discussion with other participants.
Is
the certificate issued to an individual or a company?
It
is issued to the individual and will display the participant’s name.
Registration must use a company email address; personal addresses such as
Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook are not supported.
Can
I complete two chapters together if I am on holiday during one week?
Yes.
You can combine chapters or complete all the e-learning shortly before the
Summit, although following the weekly schedule is recommended.
Do
I need administrator privileges on my computer?
- No. You only need access to Dalux Academy and the Dalux browser platform. You will need to create a separate account for the training environment; it is not the same account used on the main Dalux platform.
How
can an experienced Dalux user benefit from the certification?
The
course explains not only how features work, but why particular structures
and configurations are recommended. Experienced users can reinforce their
knowledge and learn how Dalux features—such as folders, user groups,
communication channels, workflows, and work packages—work together in a
realistic project scenario.
Will
course materials or practice environments remain available afterward?
We
plan to create a project environment for participants, subject to participation
numbers. Participants would have access to a correctly configured project and a
community of Dalux 2026 certified users.
How much time should I expect to spend on the online portion?
Approximately
one to two hours per week, depending on the chapter.
Do
I need the Dalux desktop application?
No.
The browser versions of Dalux and Academy are sufficient for the e-learning
and exam.
Will
there be a public directory of certified Dalux users?
Not
initially. Participants will know one another through the course, but there
will not be a public searchable directory. Each certificate will have a unique
link that others can use to verify its validity.
What
time of day will the on-site session or exam take place?
Activities
may be scheduled throughout the day. The assigned time slot will be provided
with the final confirmation. Participants with flight conflicts can contact the
organizers to request a different slot.
How
is the e-learning delivered?
It
uses a combination of text, short videos, screenshots, and interactive
practice. The general learning pattern is “show, tell, and practice.”
How
much of the regular Summit program will participants miss?
Approximately
two hours: around one hour of on, site training on day one and one hour for the
exam on day two.
How
long is the certification valid?
The
2026 certification is intended to remain valid until the next Summit, approximately
one year.
Will
the certification need to be renewed?
The
current expectation is that it will be renewed annually.
